Therapy & Mental Health Care in Redondo Beach
Redondo Beach is the biggest of the beach cities and the least like the postcard. Around 66,000 people, nearly half of them renting, sixty percent of households being families. Our office is just up PCH in Hermosa Beach, which for most of Redondo is a short drive rather than an outing.

The least rarefied of the beach cities
That matters for who we see from here. Redondo is not a single demographic with a single problem. It is young couples in an apartment off Artesia, families who have owned near the Riviera Village for twenty years, aerospace and healthcare workers, teachers, people who moved down from the Westside for the space and now commute for it. The median age is 41 and the median household income is around $150,000, which in this part of California means comfortable and stretched at the same time.
What that produces is not exotic. It is the ordinary weight of adult life carried by a lot of people at once, and ordinary is not the same as easy.
What Redondo actually calls us about
- Couples therapy, most often two people who have become efficient co-managers of a household and stopped being anything else
- Family therapy when a kid's difficulty has become the family's organizing principle
- Anxiety and depression that have been functional for years and recently stopped being functional
- New parents who did not expect it to feel like this
- Drinking that started as unwinding and became the plan for the evening
- Transitions, including the ones that look like good news from outside
North and South Redondo are not the same city
Anyone who lives here knows this and almost no practice writing about Redondo acknowledges it. South Redondo, around Riviera Village and the harbor, skews older, more settled, more likely to own. North Redondo is denser and younger, more apartments and townhomes, closer to the 405 and to the aerospace and tech employers people commute to.
They tend to arrive with different things. South Redondo brings us long marriages that have gone quiet, adult children causing worry, and the specific unease of realizing the plan worked and something is still off. North Redondo brings us people earlier in the arc: career pressure, first babies, a relationship deciding whether it is going to be permanent, and drinking that has not yet been named as a problem by anyone but the person doing it.
The scheduling problem is the real problem
In a city where most households have two working adults and a lot of them are renting rather than settled, the barrier to therapy is almost never motivation. It is a Tuesday. Two jobs, school pickup, a commute that varies by forty minutes depending on the 405, and somewhere in there a 50-minute appointment that has to happen at the same time every week.
We hold evening availability, and virtual sessions mean a couple can join from two different locations when that is genuinely the only way the week works. It is not the ideal version of couples therapy and we would rather have you both in the room. It is considerably better than the version where you cancel.
One practice, so nothing restarts
If therapy turns out not to be the whole answer, the next step happens inside the same practice rather than with a referral and a new intake. Psychiatry and medication management, EMDR and trauma treatment, ADHD and neuropsychological testing, teen therapy, and addiction care are all part of the same team.

Questions
Frequently asked
How close are you to Redondo Beach?
Our office is at 2200 Pacific Coast Highway in Hermosa Beach, directly north of Redondo along PCH. From Riviera Village or South Redondo it is a short drive, and from North Redondo it is usually under fifteen minutes.
We both work full time. Can we actually schedule couples therapy?
This is the most common obstacle we hear from Redondo couples and it is a scheduling problem before it is a clinical one. Evening slots exist, and virtual sessions mean two people can join from two different places when that is the only way a week works.
Is there a wait to be seen?
We are accepting new clients. Because we are a smaller practice rather than a large clinic, matching you to the right clinician takes a conversation rather than a queue, and that conversation is the free consultation.
What if we are not sure we need therapy exactly?
That is a normal place to start from and a good reason to use the consultation. Some people leave it deciding that what they actually need is a psychiatric consult, testing, or just a clearer read on what is going on. We would rather point you accurately than book you.
Do you see kids and adults from the same family?
Yes, and coordinating that inside one practice is part of the point. A teenager can see one clinician while a parent sees another, with appropriate boundaries between them, so nobody is managing four separate offices and four separate intake processes.
What does private-pay mean in practice?
It means no insurance company decides how many sessions you get or what the diagnosis has to be to justify them. We provide superbills you can submit to a PPO for out-of-network reimbursement, and we will explain how to check your benefits before you commit.
