Jack is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with more than a decade in behavioral health. His clinical work centers on two areas that are often treated separately and frequently show up together: substance use and psychosis. He works with people in early recovery and long-term recovery, with young adults experiencing a first episode, and with the families trying to make sense of what is happening.

His approach is direct and steady. He is interested in what is driving the behavior, what a person wants their life to look like, and what level of care will get them there, including being honest when outpatient therapy is not enough.

As co-founder, Jack built Bodhi Wellness Collective around a simple standard: clinicians chosen for real skill, working as one team, with therapy, psychiatry, and testing coordinated around the person. He leads operations and oversees clinical standards across the practice.

Outside the office, Jack is an avid golfer and spends as much time on the course as his schedule allows.

Colby Long, LMFT, therapist at Bodhi Wellness Collective

Colby Long

MA, LMFT · Therapist

Colby is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with substance use, trauma, OCD, anxiety, and depression. He trained in DBT under Dr. Charles R. Swenson and is certified in Trauma-Focused CBT, drawing also on ERP, Internal Family Systems, and attachment-based work.

Colby holds a Bachelor's in English Literature from Pepperdine University and a Master's in Clinical Psychology from Antioch University Los Angeles, with additional training in Dialectical Behavior Therapy under Dr. Charles R. Swenson. A former Fulbright Scholar, he brings a global perspective to a practice rooted firmly in the South Bay.

He specializes in substance use disorders, depression, anxiety, OCD, and trauma, and works across attachment theory, DBT, CBT, ERP, and Internal Family Systems. His years in residential treatment shape how he works now: a calm, non-judgmental room where people can look honestly at what they want their lives to be, with an approach built around the person rather than the diagnosis.

Colby is also a firm believer in time outdoors as part of mental health, and a lifelong surfer who spends most of his free time in the Pacific.

Josh Cleary, LMFT, therapist at Bodhi Wellness Collective

Josh Cleary

LMFT · Therapist

Josh is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who works with substance use and severe mental illness. He spent several years delivering field-based psychotherapy to homeless veterans through a Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health Full Service Partnership program.

Josh earned his Master's in Clinical Psychology at Antioch University Los Angeles. He spent several years providing field-based psychotherapy to homeless veterans as part of a Full Service Partnership program with the Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health, work that placed him alongside people managing substance use and severe mental illness in genuinely hard circumstances.

He works primarily in CBT, mindfulness-based cognitive therapy, and psychodynamic and relational approaches. He also brings personal knowledge of addiction and what it does both to the person living with it and to the family around them, which lends a nuance that training alone does not provide.

Josh is a father of two. Outside of work he trains hard, spends time outdoors, and goes to a lot of live music. He holds to a simple conviction: whatever the problem is, changing the quality of your mind changes the quality of your experience.

Nimalee Wickremasinghe-Kuhn, LPCC, therapist at Bodhi Wellness Collective

Nimalee Wickremasinghe-Kuhn

MA, LPCC · Therapist

Nimalee is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor who works with mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, trauma, and substance use. She is experienced in DBT, EMDR, and ACT, and draws on psychodynamic work, attachment theory, and Motivational Interviewing.

Nimalee holds a master's in psychology from Pepperdine University and a master's in psychology with an emphasis in professional clinical counseling from University of Massachusetts Global. She also completed three years of doctoral coursework and training in clinical psychology at Pepperdine.

She has worked across the full continuum of care, in shelters for unhoused people, hospitals, residential and outpatient treatment centers, and schools, supporting people through mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, trauma, and substance use. Her approach is collaborative and nonjudgmental, in a room that welcomes both irreverence and raw emotion, and she practices in a culturally attuned way that is affirming of all identities.

Her conviction is that we cannot shame ourselves into lasting change, and that change comes instead through acceptance. Outside of work she sings in a choir, does interior design, and swims with her golden retriever.

Psychiatry

Psychiatric evaluation and medication management

Dr. Alexander Sones, MD, psychiatrist at Bodhi Wellness Collective

Alexander Sones

MD · Psychiatry

Dr. Sones is a double board-certified psychiatrist, in Psychiatry and in Forensic Psychiatry, who trained entirely at UCLA. He provides psychotherapy alongside medication management for depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, PTSD, ADHD, psychotic disorders, personality disorders, and addiction.

Dr. Sones earned his medical degree at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA, where he was elected to Alpha Omega Alpha, then completed psychiatry residency at UCLA's Semel Institute with a year at Harbor-UCLA, followed by a fellowship in forensic psychiatry. He served as Chief Resident of Inpatient Psychiatry and Chief Resident of Forensic Psychiatry, and is a diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in both Psychiatry and Forensic Psychiatry. He is a Clinical Professor of Psychiatry in the UCLA Department of Psychiatry and Biobehavioral Sciences.

His view is that a psychiatrist's role extends well beyond prescribing. He offers psychotherapy as well as medication management, and treats lifestyle intervention as part of the work rather than an afterthought. He co-authored a chapter on behavioral change strategies in Lifestyle Psychiatry, published by American Psychiatric Publishing.

He has particular experience with severe mental illness, and worked as a street psychiatrist on a homeless outreach team through the Ocean Park Community Center and the Los Angeles Office of Diversion and Reentry. He has published research on homelessness and untreated mental illness, moral injury in veterans, and forensic psychiatric ethics.

Psychological Testing

ADHD, autism, and neuropsychological evaluation

Dr. Daniel Hai, PsyD, clinical neuropsychologist at Bodhi Wellness Collective

Daniel Hai

PsyD · Clinical Neuropsychologist

Dr. Hai is a clinical neuropsychologist with more than ten years conducting psychological and neuropsychological assessment, with particular expertise in complex presentations where cognitive, emotional, developmental, and medical factors overlap. His focus includes ADHD and autism differentials, attention and executive functioning, learning differences, and memory concerns.

Dr. Hai is a California licensed psychologist and the founder of Neuro Assessment Center in Los Angeles. He earned his Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology and completed postdoctoral training in neuropsychology through Fielding Graduate University, and is a member of the National Academy of Neuropsychology.

A significant part of his clinical work has been assessment within residential treatment settings, where people often arrive with multiple diagnoses, complicated treatment histories, and symptoms that could have several possible explanations. His approach emphasizes careful differential diagnosis and the integration of cognitive, psychological, developmental, medical, and contextual information.

He believes assessment should extend beyond diagnostic labeling. His evaluations are built around the specific clinical question and designed to clarify how different aspects of functioning interact, what those patterns mean in daily life, and how the findings translate into practical recommendations for treatment. His areas of focus include attention and executive functioning, ADHD and autism spectrum differentials, trauma-related conditions, mood and personality functioning, learning differences, memory concerns, and cognitive changes associated with medical or neurological conditions.

His assessment experience also includes fitness-for-duty, disability, academic and testing accommodations, conservatorship, and professional competency evaluations, including high-stakes evaluations of physicians, surgeons, clergy, and other licensed professionals. That work has shaped his emphasis on diagnostic precision, functional capacity, and the real-world implications of findings.

Dr. Ingrid Boveda, PhD, psychologist specializing in autism and neurodevelopmental assessment at Bodhi Wellness Collective

Ingrid Boveda

PhD · Autism & Neurodevelopmental Assessment

Dr. Boveda is a licensed psychologist specializing in autism and neurodevelopmental assessment, with particular depth in recognizing autism in girls and women, who are identified later and far less often than boys. Her work also covers nonverbal learning disorder, executive function difficulties, and the developmental picture underneath a complicated presentation.

Dr. Boveda is a California licensed psychologist. She completed her master's and doctoral degrees in counseling and psychology at the University of Utah, following an undergraduate degree at Florida International University. She is the founding psychologist of a neurodivergent-informed psychological testing practice and the founder of a company providing qEEG brain mapping and neurofeedback services nationally.

Her particular expertise is neurodevelopmental assessment of girls and women on the autism spectrum. Autistic girls are identified later and less often than boys, in part because they frequently mask more effectively and present differently from the profile most screening tools were built around. Many arrive having been told for years that what they have is anxiety, or that nothing is going on at all. Recognizing that pattern is a specific skill rather than a general one.

Her assessment work also covers nonverbal learning disorder, executive function difficulties, developmental trauma, and family dynamics, across psychological and neuropsychological evaluation. Much of her experience is with children, adolescents, and young adults in residential, therapeutic boarding school, and wilderness programs, where presentations tend to be layered and earlier explanations have often already failed.

She speaks regularly at conferences on autism and neurodevelopmental assessment. Her stated aim is to help clients and their families understand their own profile of strengths and struggles, rather than to hand them a label and send them away.

Coaching & Mentoring

Non-clinical coaching and mentoring, not a licensed mental health service

Kristen Hodge, PCC, executive coach at Bodhi Wellness Collective

Kristen Hodge

M.Ed., M.C., PCC · Executive Coach

Kristen is an executive coach, leadership facilitator, and strategic advisor with more than 12,000 coaching hours across 1,200 leaders. She works with executives, founders, physicians, and senior professionals navigating leadership, communication, organizational complexity, and significant career transitions.

Kristen has more than 35 years of professional experience across business leadership, entrepreneurship, and leadership development. Since becoming a professional coach in 2017 she has completed over 12,000 coaching hours with more than 1,200 leaders, from first-time managers through C-suite executives, across technology, healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, consumer brands, and global organizations.

Before coaching, she built a career in Fortune 100 operations, procurement, supply chain, and marketing, and later built and led entrepreneurial ventures. She has managed teams, carried business responsibility, negotiated complex agreements, and navigated the competing priorities that come with delivering results through people. That experience grounds her coaching in the realities of leadership rather than theory.

Her work is diagnostic before it is directive. Leaders often arrive with a clear description of the problem, but the pattern underneath may be different. What looks like a confidence concern can turn out to be a translation problem. What looks like poor delegation can be about trust or leadership identity. Her approach moves through Awareness, Alignment, Action, and Integration, with the aim of strengthening how someone thinks, communicates, decides, and leads well after the engagement ends.

Kristen is an ICF Professional Certified Coach. She holds a Master of Arts in Coaching and Executive Consultation from the Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine, a Master of Arts in Education, and a Bachelor of Science in Purchasing and Operations Management from Arizona State University's W. P. Carey School of Business, and is certified in EQ-i 2.0 and EQ 360, Hogan 360, DISC and Motivational Drivers, and SuccessFinder.

Charles Hobart, mentor and sober coach at Bodhi Wellness Collective

Charles Hobart

B.A., RADT · Mentor & Sober Coach

Charles works with people in early recovery and through major life transitions, helping them build the routines, structure, and self-trust that lasting sobriety depends on. His coaching is practical and grounded, and he stays alongside people through the ordinary, day-to-day work of rebuilding a life.

Charles holds a B.A. in Psychology, magna cum laude, from Loyola Marymount University, where he is now completing his master's in counseling on the path to becoming a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. He is a Registered Alcohol Drug Technician and is working toward certification as a drug and alcohol counselor. His experience spans the continuum of recovery, from admissions and internships in treatment programs to direct work as a sober coach and residential house manager.

Before recovery work, he coached competitive water polo, taught surfing, and trained as an ocean lifeguard. He brings that same athletic, outdoor sensibility to his coaching, and believes movement, time outdoors, and steady discipline are real supports for mental health and long-term sobriety. Whether someone is stepping out of primary treatment, rebuilding a daily routine, or looking for direction through a major change, he offers steady, accountable partnership along the way.

Coaching with Charles is a non-clinical service. It does not replace therapy or treatment, and it works best alongside them.

Lisa Sutton, Business Development at Bodhi Wellness Collective

Lisa Sutton

Business Development

Lisa has spent more than four decades in therapeutic programs for teens and young adults, work that gave her a rare gift for connecting with people and the families who love them. She holds a Master's in the Physical Sciences and brings that same care and rigor to building relationships across our community. At Bodhi Wellness Collective, she helps families, referral partners, and the wider South Bay find their way to the right support at the right moment.

About the Practice

Bodhi Wellness Collective is a premium outpatient mental health practice in the South Bay, offering therapy, psychiatry, and specialized care for individuals, couples, and families, in person at our office and virtually across California. We built Bodhi around a simple conviction: that serious mental health care should feel coordinated, unhurried, and genuinely personal, from the first conversation onward.

A higher standard

The South Bay deserves more than a referral and a fifty-minute hour. Too often, care is fragmented: a therapist here, a prescriber there, a testing center somewhere else, none of them in conversation with one another. We built Bodhi differently. Here, therapy, psychiatry, testing, and addiction care are coordinated under one clinical team, so your care moves with you rather than beginning again at every turn.

We are, by design, a boutique practice. We take the time to match each person with the right clinician for their history and goals, and we keep our standard of attention high rather than our volume. The result is care that feels personal because it is.
